Loughborough Town Swimming Club have the honour of being the first swimming club in the country to be accredited with Swim21 status under it's new format. The club was not required to be re-accredited under the scheme until November 2007, however, the club decided to start the process early, following it's return to our home pool at Loughborough Leisure Centre. The committee felt it was a good time to start the process again, having been given an excellent new pool timetable by Serco Leisure Ltd, employed a new Head Coach and with new members joining each week. The whole committee was involved at some point along the way and proves what an excellent set-up we have here at Loughborough Town. Another first for Loughborough was the fact that instead of collating all our evidence into paper file after paper file as others have done in the past, the club decided to collate all their evidence into an Inter-active CD format. This means it is easier to use on a day to day basis, several committee members can have a copy to refer to and it's far easier to carry around. This lead to the ASA recommending the whole evidence as 'Good Practice'. For the future, the club is looking to get the CD information loaded into this web-site, so anybody interested in joining the club, can access all necessary information. Watch this space! |

Swim21 is the model the ASA use's, in conjunction with Sport England, for club development. In order for a club to become accredited with Swim21, it must first complete an Audit, followed by an Action Plan and finally, collect evidence to prove the club has met certain criteria set by the ASA. Once accredited, the club must continue to improve and develop and yearly Action Plans and Validations must be approved by the ASA in order for a club to remain in the programme. Being accredited means a club is safe, well established, managed correctly, with qualified coaches and is always looking to the future. We have had our 2005 and 2006 Action Plans and Validations approved by the ASA and these are available below for you to download. |
